Lifting heavy weights is difficult.  Not lifting heavy weights is easy.

The decision to repeatedly choose difficult over easy builds muscle.  When I see your bulging biceps, I know that you choose to lift heavy weights.

What about character?

Is character a muscle?  How many times have we heard that difficult experience builds character.  “Builds” by choosing difficult over easy – sounds like a muscle to me.

Consider:

Assisting a stranger in need is difficult.  Looking away is easy.

Maintaining composure is difficult.  Losing our temper is easy.

Forgiving is difficult.  Holding a grudge is easy.

Maintaining an open mind is difficult.  Staying set in our ways is easy.

Getting back up is difficult.  Staying down is easy.

How would your life decisions be different, if character was a muscle that was visible to all?

Imagine if those with ripped character muscles graced the covers of our magazines. How would our world be different?
