True or Fale:  Nobody ever makes a decision about anything anywhere.

Few are interested in being THE decision maker – the “buck stops here” – type.  The same for assuming responsibility for a project, assignment, or group performance.

Where is the “I am the wo/man in charge! I take full responsibility for the success or failure of this decision, performance, etc”?

Sing it Bonnie Tyler – “I Need a Hero”

Most corporate decisions and plans are performed through “Ouija Board” management.  All fingers in the mix but participation limited to demonstrating a contribution but far clear of taking the fall when something untoward occurs.

Why?

In many (most) circles, success is defined by “not making a mistake” instead of “superior performance.”

Dare I suggest that this has slowly become a defining aspect of modern American?
